The next day, we are ready to explore Big Island. We drove from Kona(west) to Hilo(east). It’s about 1.5 hours drive. We started driving around 6:30 in the morning.

After food shopping and tasting, we decided to go to Akaka Falls. On the way we saw a beautiful 4 mile scenic drive and followed it.  Then, we grabbed a smoothie then headed to the original plan.

For lunch, we went back close to the end of the 4 mile scenic route and found this cool cafe-What’s Shakin’. Their smoothies are delicious. They have this big backyard/garden with fruit trees where they probably get most of their ingredients from.

Our little boy can’t wait to go to the beach so we went to one of the beach in Hilo- Richardson Beach Park. The water was a bit cold for us and it was in the mid of May.

Not too far from this beach, there’s an ice cream shop called Hilo Homemade Ice cream. My son, gobbled their salted caramel mac nut. After the ice cream treat, we drove back to Kona.

For dinner, we went to Mauna Lani shopping center. We went to this Japanese restaurant called Monestra.

I’m newbie when it comes to taking food pictures.
