What to munch while waiting for New Year countdown? For me, it’s going to be popcorn. I’ve read an article before, that microwave popcorn are not very healthy because they contain other unhealthy/artificial stuff on them. And popping your own popcorn using a pot is super simple. They are very addicting and you can season them whatever you like from plain salt, shichimi torigashi (Japanese spice seasoning), cheese powder, and the list goes on! I’m always on search for salty snack recipes and popcorn now became one of the family favorites.
I would suggest to follow the cooking instructions on the label. It’s very easy. Overtime, I just eyeball the amount of oil and kernels. After putting 3 tbsp of oil and half cup of kernels, set the stove on high and let them all pop!
